Law & Finance

Students entering the Law and Finance program explore a wide variety of topics and problem-based learning activities that extend their understanding of legal issues, finance, and business technology in the 21st century.  Students analyze various aspects of the legal system as it relates to juveniles, rights, and responsibilities.  In the finance portion of the magnet, students experience the challenges involved with starting their own business.  Students use knowledge of money, wants and needs, and budgeting to keep the business running profitably.  The Law and Finance program prepares students with the foundations for success in high school magnet program offerings in finance, law and public policy, and related career and technical programs. These students may also earn partial high school credit for successfully passing the high school exam and the Juvenile Justice course.
