Ms. Thomas, 7th Grade Administrator

Hello Loch Raven Families,

My name is Alia N Thomas and I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I graduated from Coppin State College, now Coppin State University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education. In order to further my education, I completed my Master’s Degree at Towson State University where I received my Educational Leadership-Administration I Certification.

I began my teaching career, as a Special Educator, in Baltimore City and then transitioned to Howard County where I was a team leader and received numerous leadership opportunities, even at the state level. I transitioned from a Special Educator with the Howard County Public School System to an Area Specialist in the Office of Special Education in the Baltimore County Public School System in 2009. After years of supporting fifty-six elementary schools, I received a promotion as an Assistant Principal at Villa Cresta Elementary School and another promotion within two years to be the Assistant Principal at Loch Raven Technical Academy.

As the current Assistant Principal, I am in charge of our 7th-grade class. In addition to all emergency drills and both state and countywide assessments.
