Karen Jackson is a seasoned educator and passionate community advocate. With 27 years of service in Baltimore County Public Schools, Karen brings a wealth of experience in teaching, relationship-building, and strategic support for student and family success.

Her teaching career has spanned all grade levels, from elementary to high school, and includes experience in virtual learning. She has served at Southwest Academy Middle, Woodlawn High School, and McCormick Elementary. After teaching virtually for two years, in 2023-24, she returned to the building as LRTA’s general music teacher, where she deepened her connection with the student body and school community.

Ms. Jackson’s academic foundation is rooted in the arts and education. She holds a Master of Arts in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, both from Morgan State University. She began her collegiate studies at Essex Community College, earning an Associate in Arts in Vocal Music.

As Community Schools Facilitator, Ms. Jackson works to connect students and families with the resources, services, and supports they need to thrive. She works closely with school staff, local partners, and families to align resources, programs, and supports that directly benefit the school community. Her role is not just about coordination, it's about building relationships, fostering shared responsibility, and ensuring that the voices of families and community members are central to school decision-making.
