With the changing of our world, the need to expand our science knowledge becomes imperative. When studying the Conservation Sciences, students will investigate the protection, preservation, management, or restoration of wildlife and of natural resources such as forests, soil, and water.
The Conservation Science Program
è prepares students to make decisions and take action which will build and maintain optimal relationships between themselves and the environment which sustains them.
è allows students the opportunity to receive high school credit(s) in science upon successful completion the magnet program and the high school programs.
è allows students the opportunity to earn part of their required service-learning hours.
PROGRAM GOALS
è To build an awareness of and an appreciation of the beauty, value, problems, and abuses of the biosphere.
è To acquire and to apply scientific knowledge, concepts, theories, and laws in order to interpret and understand the natural world.
è To promote a realization that individual stewardship will help determine the fate of the planet.
è To provide opportunities to participate actively in hands-on experiences which will enhance conservation science awareness.
